Andy Michels, PT, MS, SCS

Andy is a Physical Therapist with more than 20 years of experience treating orthopaedic, sports, and industrial injuries. He is one of only 20 Board-Certified Sports Physical Therapists in North Carolina. He received his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Delaware and his Advanced Masters degree in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at Chapel Hill he worked with the Tar Heel football, baseball and gymnastics teams. GO HEELS!! Andy then worked directly with Greensboro Orthopaedics for 16 years and now owns this practice in Oak Ridge.
On a personal note, Andy and Susan Michels have been married for 22 years (18 in Oak Ridge) and have three children. They attend Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. Andy has been involved in the local community through church, soccer coaching, Cub Scouts, and his homeowner's association. Andy enjoys family time, outdoor activities and training for short distance Triathlons (swim, bike, run).

Doug Geiger, PT, CSCS

Doug is a physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience in treating orthopedic and sports related injuries in North Carolina. He received his Physical Therapy Degree from SUNY at Downstate in Brooklyn, New York. Doug also has earned his certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Throughout his career he has learned and utilized manual therapy techniques specific for rehabilitation of soft tissue and joint dysfunctions. Along with specific prescriptive exercise programs he has helped many individuals return to the activities they desire. He enjoys working with people from all walks of life. Doug has worked with many high school, collegiate and professional athletes over the years from almost every sporting venue. Some of his clients have included Division 1 college athletes (including the ACC & PAC 12), athletes from the NFL, NFL Europe League, Major League Baseball, Professional Tennis Players, Professional Basketball Players and Olympic Track & Field Athletes. He has also been involved for a number of years in sportsmedicine outreach programs to local high schools and has greatly enjoyed his associations with coaches, athletes & parents. It has always been important to Doug that his clients be treated as a Superstar no matter whether they are a high school student, a housewife, a professional athlete, a business person or someone who is now retired.
Personally, Doug is single and attends Pinedale Christian Church in Winston-Salem. He enjoys time with his family & friends and all types of sporting events. He also enjoys exercising, and the outdoors (such as hiking, fishing, and snow skiing).
Jennifer Holland, MPT

Jennifer was raised at the Crystal Coast of NC in a small town called Newport near Morehead City. She attended undergraduate at UNC Greensboro where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 1998. While at UNCG, she played basketball for 4 years and her team made it to the NCAA tournament (the Big Dance) in 1998. Jennifer then received her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August of 2000. She has worked in various physical therapy settings including outpatient orthopaedics, acute care, pediatrics, skilled nursing, and assisted living. She also has additional training in the treatment of vestibular disorders (vertigo/dizziness) and is certified in the treatment of lymphedema.
On a personal note, Jennifer and Steve have been married for almost 10 years , have 1 son, Todd, and are expecting a little girl in September. They attend Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church and have lived in Oak Ridge about 11 years. Jennifer loves being a mommy and enjoys boating, camping, anything outside, and trips to the coast to visit her family. Oh, and to Andy's aggravation, she is an avid Duke basketball fan!!
Karyn Efird

Karyn has lived in Summerfield for the past 13 yrs. She graduated from UNCG with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science and from North Carolina A & T State University with a Masters in Counselor Education. She taught 9th grade for several years before deciding to stay at home and raise her 2 boys and help develop family owned businesses. Once her youngest started to school she decided to return to work and when the opportunity to work at Oak Ridge Physical Therapy became available she accepted without hesitation.
Most of the time you will find her either on a baseball/ football field or in a gym watching her boys Nick and Landon playing their sport. In her free time she loves to play tennis, go to the beach and spend time with friends and family.
